Lijiang is such a beautiful place! With its traditional architecture, charming streets and mountain-town atmosphere, it’s definitely somewhere I’d recommend exploring if you’re visiting Yunnan, China.
During our trip, we stayed at YinYue Inn, a lovely accommodation with a cosy atmosphere and some really pretty photo spots!
What I Loved About YinYue Inn
One of my favourite things about YinYue Inn was its overall vibe. It felt like a lovely place to relax after spending the day exploring Lijiang.
What made it especially memorable were the two outdoor rooftop areas, which were great for taking photos!
One rooftop area was open to guests, while the other was connected to a particular guest room. That room happened to be unoccupied during our stay, so we asked the staff whether we could take some photos there, and they kindly allowed us to!
Of course, access to that second rooftop would depend on room availability and the staff’s permission.
A Little Tip Before Booking Accommodation in Lijiang
Here’s something worth knowing before booking a hotel in Lijiang Old Town: cars and taxis generally cannot drive directly into its pedestrian streets.
That means you might need to walk some distance with your luggage to reach your accommodation.
Personally, I’d recommend checking how far your hotel is from the nearest vehicle drop-off point, especially if you’re travelling with heavy suitcases.
There are also people offering luggage transportation using handcarts or wagons for a fee. This can be especially helpful when you’re navigating the uphill sections of the old town!
Would I Recommend YinYue Inn?
If you’re looking for accommodation with a charming atmosphere and lovely photo opportunities, YinYue Inn is worth considering.
I particularly enjoyed the rooftop spaces, and I think it’s a nice option for travellers who appreciate accommodation that’s part of the travel experience itself.
Just remember to consider the location and luggage situation when planning your stay in Lijiang!
